ESR03 – Sohaib Qazi

Sohaib Qazi was born in Srinagar, Kashmir, in 1995. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Electrical Power and Energy Systems from National Institute of Technology Srinagar in 2018 and 2021, respectively. His Master’s thesis involved the Design and Control of Direct Matrix Converter fed Systems. His research interests include the analysis and modulation of power electronic converters, variable speed drives, and the integration of renewable energy systems.
Research in the ETUT project:
Since 2021, Sohaib is working as a Ph.D. candidate in the ETUT project for a joint doctoral degree with the University of Twente and the University of Nottingham. His primary focus is the analysis and design of line-side power converters for improved transportation electrification.
